Swimingo brings private, one-on-one swim lessons to Florida — starting in west Broward County. Instead of driving to a crowded group class, a certified instructor travels to your own backyard pool, so every lesson happens in the water your family actually uses. Lessons are one-on-one from the first minute to the last: no rotations, no waiting on the pool deck, no sharing an instructor with a class. We teach all ages and stages, from toddlers getting comfortable in the water to adults learning properly for the first time.
The at-home model was made for how South Florida lives. In communities like Weston, Davie, Cooper City, Southwest Ranches, and Parkland, homes are built around water — backyard pools, community lakes, canals along the property line. Pools here never close for winter, which means swimming is a twelve-month skill, and a fixed ten-week session at a distant facility is a poor match for a Florida family's calendar. At-home lessons follow your schedule instead: school terms, camp, travel, sports seasons.
There is also a serious reason to start early. Across Florida, more than 500 people died from unintentional drowning in 2023, and drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1 to 4 statewide, according to the Florida Department of Health. In Broward County specifically, drowning is the leading cause of death for children in that age group. Broward takes water safety seriously — the county runs its own voucher program offering free swim lessons for children ages 0 to 17, on top of Florida's state program. Private at-home lessons work alongside those programs when you want one-on-one attention in the pool your child is around every day.
