Private Swim Lessons in Toronto

Swimingo is a private, at-home swim lessons company serving families and adults in the Greater Toronto Area, Metro Vancouver, Winnipeg, Windsor, and Florida. Certified instructors travel to the client's own pool for every lesson.

Swimingo offers private, one-on-one swim lessons across Toronto. Certified instructors travel to your backyard, condo, or building pool anywhere in the city, including Bloor West Village, the Annex, Leslieville, the Beaches, Riverdale, Roncesvalles, and the Junction. Every instructor is certified and background-checked before their first lesson. All ages and skill levels are welcome, with flexible scheduling and no waitlists for crowded public swim programs.

Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods, and each one feels different. Bloor West Village has a small-town shopping strip and family streets near High Park. The Annex near the University of Toronto has grand older homes and a busy, walkable feel. Leslieville and Riverdale in the east end draw young families with parks, the Danforth's restaurant strip, and a creative community vibe. The Beaches offers lakefront boardwalks and a relaxed cottage-like atmosphere. Roncesvalles and the Junction on the west side have tight-knit main streets and a growing mix of condos and older homes. From downtown towers to west-end backyards, Toronto parents want swim lessons that come to them, not the other way around.

Toronto has every type of pool you can imagine, and Swimingo works with all of them. Downtown, Yorkville, and midtown have condo pools in high-rise buildings. The west end and east end have backyard pools in detached homes. You don't need to own a pool yourself either, if your building, gym, or a family member's backyard has one, we can teach there. Every instructor brings their own kickboards, noodles, and safety equipment to each lesson, so you don't need to buy anything. Swimingo sends certified instructors to your pool for every lesson. That means no subway ride to a crowded public pool, no fighting for lane space, no rigid group schedule. You book around your life.

Many Toronto families compare private lessons to public options like Sunnyside Pool or the Regent Park Aquatic Centre, especially in summer when outdoor pool and lesson time slots fill up fast. A backyard pool in the west end or a condo pool downtown can run lessons on your own schedule instead of a public facility's calendar. Either way, your child is learning with one instructor's full attention, not sharing a lifeguard's attention with everyone else at the pool.

Families with more than one child often ask about sharing a lesson. Siblings close in age and skill level can sometimes be taught back-to-back at the same pool visit, which saves a second trip for the instructor and keeps costs down, ask about this when you book. For outdoor backyard pools, we work with you to reschedule around rain or unsafe weather instead of cancelling the lesson outright. Travel is included within an instructor's normal service area, if you're right on the edge of two zones, we'll let you know before booking whether an additional travel fee applies.

A group lesson at a public pool or swim school puts one instructor in the water with several kids at different skill levels. A private lesson at your own pool is one instructor, one swimmer, for the whole session. Nervous swimmers get patience instead of pressure to keep up with the group. Stronger swimmers move as fast as they're ready to. You also skip the packed public swim schedule at city rec centres, and a lesson doesn't get cancelled because of lane closures or a full class.

We teach toddlers, children, teens, and adults across Toronto. Young kids build water safety and comfort. School-age swimmers catch up or get ahead before summer. Teens work on competitive strokes. Adults learn at last or train for fitness. Beginners get patient, step-by-step coaching. Advanced swimmers refine technique and build endurance. Every lesson is one-on-one, so progress matches the swimmer, not a set curriculum built for a room of eight kids.

Swimingo Aquatics saved the day when I needed a lifeguard - very last minute - for a backyard pool party. I contacted them late in the evening, received a timely reply and they were able to provide me with a certified lifeguard less than 15 hours before my event! They were very professional and thorough with details.

Our lifeguard was Charlotte. She was OUTSTANDING ! I was beyond impressed with her professionalism and interactions with the adults and swimmers. She was extremely well mannered and attentive to the children swimming. She outlined safety procedures and diligently watched the children.

THANK YOU so much again for helping me on such short notice and providing me a wonderful experience with Charlotte!

FAQs: Swim Lessons
in Toronto

How much do private swim lessons cost in Toronto?

Private lessons start at $44.99 for ages 1 to 5 and $59.99 for ages 5 and up, with package pricing as low as $39.99 to $53.99 per lesson on a 10-lesson package. Many Toronto families compare at-home lessons to club fees or long commutes to public facilities.

Can Swimingo teach at my condo pool in Toronto?

Yes. We teach at condo and apartment building pools across Toronto. Your building may need to approve guest instructors. We can help you check that before booking.

Do you cover the west end and east end of Toronto?

Yes. We serve Toronto broadly, including Bloor West Village, the Annex, Leslieville, the Beaches, and other areas with pool access.

My child is scared of the water. Is that okay?

Yes. Our instructors work with nervous swimmers every week. A familiar pool with one coach often helps more than a busy public class.

Do you offer adult swim lessons in Toronto?

Yes. Adults book private lessons at their condo or home pool. Your instructor meets you at your skill level and goals.

How do I book swim lessons in Toronto?

Book online through Swimingo. Pick your package and schedule. Your certified instructor comes to your pool.

Can my kids share a lesson if they're close in age?

Sometimes. If siblings are close in age and skill level, we can often schedule them back-to-back at the same pool visit to save a second trip. Let us know when you book and we'll see what fits.

What happens if it rains on lesson day?

For outdoor backyard pools, we'll work with you to reschedule around the forecast instead of cancelling outright. Indoor condo and building pools keep lessons running regardless of weather.

Do I need to buy any swim equipment?

No. Your instructor brings kickboards, noodles, and any other equipment needed for the lesson. You just need access to the pool.

Will the same instructor teach every lesson?

In most cases, yes. We try to keep your family with the same certified instructor for every lesson, so your child builds comfort and consistency instead of adjusting to someone new each time. If your instructor is ever unavailable, we will match you with another certified instructor for that session.

Can I watch my child's lesson?

Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch every lesson. Many parents also join younger children in the water for the first few sessions before the instructor takes over the hands-on work.
