Private Swim Lessons in Vancouver

Swimingo is a private, at-home swim lessons company serving families and adults in the Greater Toronto Area, Metro Vancouver, Winnipeg, Windsor, and Florida. Certified instructors travel to the client's own pool for every lesson.

Swimingo offers private, one-on-one swim lessons across Vancouver. Certified instructors travel to your condo or building pool anywhere in the city, including Kitsilano, Yaletown, Mount Pleasant, the West End, Coal Harbour, and Fairview. Every instructor is certified and background-checked before their first lesson. All ages and skill levels are welcome, with flexible year-round scheduling and no waitlists for crowded public swim programs.

Vancouver is a city built around water, rain, and dense urban living. Kitsilano has beach culture, walkable streets, and a mix of heritage homes and newer condos near the pool at Kits Beach. Yaletown and the downtown core are tower neighbourhoods where most families swim in building pools, not backyards. Mount Pleasant and Main Street draw creative families to converted spaces and new mid-rise living. The West End packs high-rises between Stanley Park and English Bay with indoor pools on every block. Fairview and Coal Harbour add more of the same, dense, transit-connected living where the building pool is the family pool. Vancouver parents need swim lessons that work year-round, not just in summer.

Unlike suburban Ontario, most Vancouver families learn in indoor condo pools. Towers from Coal Harbour to False Creek have heated facilities that run through rainy season. Swimingo sends certified instructors to your building pool for every lesson. No bus ride across town to a crowded community centre. No outdoor-only programs that shut down when the weather turns. You book around your schedule and keep progress going all year. Your child learns in the pool they use every day, which helps nervous swimmers feel safer than a loud public class. For busy urban families, lessons at your building mean one less trip out in the rain.

You do not need to own a pool to book with us. If your building, your gym, or a friend or family member's pool works, we can likely teach there, your instructor brings kickboards, noodles, and any other equipment the lesson needs, so you don't need to buy anything. That matters in a city where most families rent or own without a private pool of their own. Coverage also runs well past the downtown peninsula, the same certified instructor pool serves North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond, so if you split time between a Vancouver condo and a relative's pool across the bridge, lessons can follow you.

A private lesson also looks different from a registered group class at a Vancouver community centre pool. A typical group lesson puts one instructor in the water with several kids at different skill levels, competing for spots that fill up fast, especially in fall and winter when indoor programs are the only option. A private lesson is one instructor and your child for the whole session, at a pool you already have access to. Nervous swimmers get patience instead of pressure to keep pace with the group, and stronger swimmers move as fast as they are ready to.

Booking a package also saves money. A package of 10 lessons comes with a 10% discount off the single-lesson rate, and package holders get personalized progress tracking in their dashboard, so you can see what your Vancouver swimmer is working on between lessons instead of guessing from a verbal update. Plans change, so lessons can be rescheduled up to 12 hours before the start time, with credit issued for future use, we ask for at least 24 hours notice when possible.

We teach toddlers, school-age kids, teens, and adults at all levels. Young kids build water safety and comfort indoors. Older kids keep skills sharp through winter before summer at the beach. Teens work on competitive strokes. Adults learn from scratch or train for open-water swimming and fitness. Beginners get patient coaching in a calm setting. Stronger swimmers refine technique and build endurance. Every lesson is one-on-one.

Swimingo Aquatics saved the day when I needed a lifeguard - very last minute - for a backyard pool party. I contacted them late in the evening, received a timely reply and they were able to provide me with a certified lifeguard less than 15 hours before my event! They were very professional and thorough with details.

Our lifeguard was Charlotte. She was OUTSTANDING ! I was beyond impressed with her professionalism and interactions with the adults and swimmers. She was extremely well mannered and attentive to the children swimming. She outlined safety procedures and diligently watched the children.

THANK YOU so much again for helping me on such short notice and providing me a wonderful experience with Charlotte!

FAQs: Swim Lessons
in Vancouver

How much do private swim lessons cost in Vancouver?

Private lessons start at $44.99 for ages 1 to 5 and $59.99 for ages 5 and up, with package pricing as low as $39.99 to $53.99 per lesson on a 10-lesson package. Many Vancouver families compare at-home lessons to club fees or commuting to public facilities across the city.

Can Swimingo teach at my condo pool in Vancouver?

Yes. We regularly teach at condo and apartment building pools across Vancouver. Your building may need to approve guest instructors. We can help you check that before booking.

Do you offer year-round swim lessons in Vancouver?

Yes. Indoor condo pools let you keep lessons going through fall and winter. You do not have to wait for summer to build swimming skills.

My child is scared of the water. Is that okay?

Yes. Our instructors work with nervous swimmers every week. A familiar building pool with one coach often helps more than a busy public class.

Do you offer adult swim lessons in Vancouver?

Yes. Adults book private lessons at their condo pool. Your instructor meets you at your skill level, whether that is learning to float or training for fitness.

How do I book swim lessons in Vancouver?

Book online through Swimingo. Pick your package and schedule. Your certified instructor comes to your building pool.

Do I need to own a pool to book lessons in Vancouver?

No. If you have access to a pool, at your building, your gym, or a friend or family member's, we can likely teach there. Your instructor brings the equipment needed for a safe lesson.

Does Swimingo cover the whole Lower Mainland, not just Vancouver?

Yes. The same certified instructor pool that serves Vancouver also covers North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond, so lessons can follow your family across the region.

Why choose private lessons over a group program at a Vancouver community centre?

A registered group lesson usually means one instructor split between several kids at different skill levels, plus a wait for a spot in a popular indoor session. A private lesson is one instructor and your child for the whole session, at a pool you already have access to.

Will the same instructor teach every lesson?

In most cases, yes. We try to keep your family with the same certified instructor for every lesson, so your child builds comfort and consistency instead of adjusting to someone new each time. If your instructor is ever unavailable, we will match you with another certified instructor for that session.

Can I watch my child's lesson?

Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch every lesson. Many parents also join younger children in the water for the first few sessions before the instructor takes over the hands-on work.
