Private Swim Lessons in Burlington

Swimingo is a private, at-home swim lessons company serving families and adults in the Greater Toronto Area, Metro Vancouver, Winnipeg, Windsor, and Florida. Certified instructors travel to the client's own pool for every lesson.

Swimingo offers private one-on-one swim lessons in Burlington. Certified instructors travel to your backyard, condo, or building pool across Burlington, including Aldershot, Millcroft, the Orchard, Alton Village, Tyandaga, and downtown. All ages and skill levels are welcome, with flexible scheduling and no waitlists for crowded public swim programs.

Burlington is often called one of Canada's best places to live, and its neighbourhoods show why. Aldershot in the west has mature streets, older homes, and quick access to the lake and LaSalle Park Marina. Millcroft in the north is a quiet, upscale area built around a golf course. The Orchard is walkable and family-friendly with plenty of green space. Downtown Burlington and the lakefront draw families who want shops, parks, and waterfront trails close by. From Tyandaga to Alton Village, Burlington parents want swim lessons that fit a relaxed lakeside lifestyle.

Burlington has a strong mix of backyard pools, townhouse complexes, and condo buildings. Millcroft and Tyandaga have many detached homes with pools. Aldershot and the lakefront have condos with building facilities. Swimingo sends certified instructors to your pool for every lesson. You skip the drive to a busy rec centre on Appleby Line or Brant Street. You skip shared lanes and fixed group schedules. Lessons happen when it works for your family, including evenings and weekends. For Burlington families who spend summers at Spencer Smith Park or boating on the lake, having a child who swims well at home matters.

A private lesson also works differently than a registered group class at a city pool. A typical group lesson puts one instructor in the water with several kids at different skill levels, so your child gets a fraction of the actual coaching time. A private lesson is one instructor and your child for the full session. Learning to swim confidently, not just tolerate the water, is one of the most effective ways to reduce drowning risk for young children, which matters most for Burlington families who spend summer weekends on the lake or boating out of the marina.

Many Burlington families compare private lessons to registered programs at the Angela Coughlan Pool, named for the Burlington-raised Olympic swimmer, or Aldershot Pool and Tansley Woods Pool, especially when popular evening and weekend slots fill up during the school year. Booking your own backyard or building pool means lessons run on your family's calendar instead of a facility's registration cycle, and a session is never cancelled for a full class or a lane closure. A 10-lesson package also comes with a 10% discount off the single-lesson rate and personalized progress tracking in your dashboard, and lessons can be rescheduled up to 12 hours before the start time with credit issued for future use.

We teach toddlers building water comfort, school-age kids preparing for camp, and teens working on competitive strokes. Adults book lessons for many reasons. Some never learned to swim. Some want to swim for fitness without a crowded public lane. Beginners get step-by-step coaching in a calm setting. Stronger swimmers work on form, breathing, and endurance. Every lesson is one-on-one, so your swimmer gets full attention from start to finish.

Burlington has a large share of retirees and downsizers who moved to the lakefront or Aldershot for a slower pace, and a fair number of them book lessons for themselves, not just their grandchildren. Adult private lessons here often focus on comfort and lap swimming for fitness rather than starting from zero, and lessons at a building or backyard pool mean no navigating a crowded public lane full of much younger, faster swimmers.

Swimingo Aquatics saved the day when I needed a lifeguard - very last minute - for a backyard pool party. I contacted them late in the evening, received a timely reply and they were able to provide me with a certified lifeguard less than 15 hours before my event! They were very professional and thorough with details.

Our lifeguard was Charlotte. She was OUTSTANDING ! I was beyond impressed with her professionalism and interactions with the adults and swimmers. She was extremely well mannered and attentive to the children swimming. She outlined safety procedures and diligently watched the children.

THANK YOU so much again for helping me on such short notice and providing me a wonderful experience with Charlotte!

FAQs: Swim Lessons
in Burlington

How much do private swim lessons cost in Burlington?

Private lessons start at $44.99 for ages 1 to 5 and $59.99 for ages 5 and up, with package pricing as low as $39.99 to $53.99 per lesson on a 10-lesson package. Many Burlington families find private lessons at home save time compared to driving to facilities across the city.

Can Swimingo teach at my condo pool in Burlington?

Yes. We teach at condo and apartment pools across Burlington, including buildings near the lakefront and downtown. Confirm guest instructor access with your building before your first lesson.

Do you cover Aldershot and Millcroft?

Yes. We serve all of Burlington, including Aldershot, Millcroft, the Orchard, Alton Village, Tyandaga, and downtown.

My child is nervous about deep water. Can private lessons help?

Yes. Learning in your own pool with one instructor often helps nervous swimmers more than a busy public class. Lessons move at your child's pace.

Do you offer adult swim lessons in Burlington?

Yes. Adults book the same private lessons. Your instructor tailors each session to your goals, from basic water safety to lap swimming.

How do I book swim lessons in Burlington?

Book online at Swimingo. Choose your package and schedule times that work. Your instructor comes to your pool.

How does Swimingo decide what level to start my child at?

Your instructor assesses comfort and skill at the first lesson and builds a plan around it, instead of slotting your child into a fixed curriculum built for a group's average level.

Why choose private lessons over a group program at Angela Coughlan Pool or Aldershot Pool?

A registered group lesson usually means one instructor split between several kids at different levels, plus a wait for a popular time slot. A private lesson is one instructor and your child for the whole session, at your own pool, so progress moves at your child's pace.

Is there a discount for booking multiple lessons in Burlington?

Yes. Booking a package of 10 lessons comes with a 10% discount off the single-lesson rate, plus personalized progress tracking in your dashboard.

Will the same instructor teach every lesson?

In most cases, yes. We try to keep your family with the same certified instructor for every lesson, so your child builds comfort and consistency instead of adjusting to someone new each time. If your instructor is ever unavailable, we will match you with another certified instructor for that session.

Can I watch my child's lesson?

Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch every lesson. Many parents also join younger children in the water for the first few sessions before the instructor takes over the hands-on work.
